The Tamarix is ​​an old tree, due to its rooting to the surface water of the Earth, has a long life. The maximum height of this tree is 10 to 15 meters. [1] The Gaz tree grows in different parts of the world with tropic weather, Specially in the deserts of Iran.

In October and November, a special sap comes out of the branches of Gaz, which is called Shireh Gaz. The local women every day from morning to the evening start picking them and using them as a natural sugar.

In Dasht-e Lut there is a Special Forrest of Gaz (Nebka Forrest) which protects the villages against sand storms.
